How do I start the therapy ?
Before we can begin with cognitive therapy, it is important that your problems and presentation are accurately assessed to see if cognitive therapy can be of help to you.
This is often referred to as the 'screening process'. The screening is used to help determine if cognitive therapy will help you.
I offer an initial screening interview (which will last approximately 40 minutes) for a nominal fee of £15. Usually I send out various questionaires prior to us meeting for the screening assessment.
Please note I do not work with everyone I 'screen' for cognitive therapy, as cognitive therapy is not always best for everyone.

Where does the therapy take place ?
In addition to seeing people in my office which has been specifically tailored for psychotherapy, I also offer clients the option of receiving therapy in their own homes. However, depending on the distance I have to travel I may have to charge for travel expenses.

When does the therapy take place ?
I tend to work with private clients in the evening, however if this not conveniant, I can in some cases offer appointments during the day or at weekends.

Do you provide written reports for solicitors ?
I will provide assessments and reports if required for medico - legal work .
In addition to this, at the end of therapy, if the client wishes I will provide an overview/report of the therapy sessions & interventions. Please note this would be from purely a cognitive-behavioural perspective, as opposed to a psychiatric or psychology report. _________________________
Do you provide 'out of hour' support for emergencies ?
Unfortunately due to the nature of my caseload I do not provide an emergency service.
It is very important that if you feel that your case warrants an emergency (i.e possible risk of suicide or self harm), then you need to either contact and make an appointment with your G.P. If this is not possible, then you may need to attend your local A & E department.
